Slings & Snoring!

I have really started to enjoy hanging out with mom in my Hotsling. It's a way that I can see everything mom see's throughout the day. As mom moves around, it usually rocks me to sleep -- and I have a tendancy to snore...hear below...

I also wore my first dress today -- thanks to Aunt Monica!!

Gianna is excited about...

... Aunt Monica & Brian coming for Labor Day weekend

... Grandma Nader, Grandpa Bob & Great-Grandpa Ralph coming next week

... Fronk (our cat) warming up to her

... Mommy learning how to put her in her sling (correctly)

and most importantly

... Daddy working from home Friday afternoon & having Monday off!!

Do I see curls?

Last night was bath night for Gianna. Since her belly button has fallen off, we have been able to use her little bathtub (which makes bath time much easier). After drying her off and getting on a clean diaper, Mike & I stopped to admire what appeared to be...CURLS!

With Daddy's dark hair -- I just assumed that she might have his straight hair also, but it appears my gene's are kicking in. She looks just like Mommy when she get's out of the shower. (I feel as though we should stock up on Anti-Frizz hair products now.)

Our first playdate

The humidity is down, the air conditioning is off, the window's are open...and you know what that means...playdates outside!! This afternoon we went for a walk with Gianna's first friend - Olivia. Gianna slept the entire time but I'm sure she had fun.

I think I even see a smile in one of the pictures -- or is that just her chubby cheeks?

My First Motion Picture

This one is for the Grandma's !!

Week in Review (08.18.08 - 8.23.08)

This was the first week that Mommy and Gianna were on their own. I would have to say that we did a great job and are still getting to know each other. Here is some of what we learned...

...that I love to sleep with daddy...

...that tummy time is fun...

...that I make a great mafia face...

...that Mommy can put me in the Baby Bjorn without dropping me...

...and that Starbucks makes a mean Tall, Soy White Chocolate Mocha.

What a great week!

I'm a Model! I'm a Model!

A few weeks ago we had a professional photographer come over to take pictures of Gianna for her birth announcement and to capture her as a newborn. Click the link below to see her slideshow:

Reducing our carbon footprint (or at least trying)

Since Gianna's belly button has fallen off, we can now try using cloth instead of disposable diapers. We have been using Pampers Newborn's which have been great but it is amazing how many you can go through in a day (or even in one changing - as we have come to learn). In hopes of being just a little bit more environmentally friendly, we are going to try the cloth diapers made by gDiapers. They look adorable but will they do their job? I'll keep you posted.

Have/Do you use cloth diapers? If so, what do you think?

Our First Blog & Off with the Umbilical Cord Stump

Welcome to our new blog. We hope that this will be a central location to provide the family with updates as to the changes of our Lil Bella. Please take a look around as there will be info posted not just on the daily events of Gianna but also fun polls and baptism information.

Also, not only is it Grandpa Ralph's 60th birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA RALPH) but it is a day that Mom & Dad have been waiting for since August 5th - the umbilical cord stump fell off. Gianna was so excited that she slept most of the day in her brand new onesie.
